FAQ
Yes, it’s completely safe.
quietformat plugins are distributed only through our official website and KVR Audio, and every installer is internally verified before being uploaded.
You can also search for plugin review videos on YouTube from trusted creators to see that our software is fully safe and works as intended.
This warning is not caused by malware or any security risk.
It appears because digital code signing (Certificate Signing) has not yet been applied.
Code signing is a process that verifies the software’s authenticity, and for indie developers like us, it’s common for early releases to be unsigned at launch.
You can safely install and use quietformat plugins by following the steps below.
How to install on macOS
1. Open the .dmg file and run the Plugin_Name_Installer.pkg inside.
2. If you see a message saying “Plugin_Name_Installer cannot be opened,” click “Done.”
3. Go to Apple Menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security.
4. Scroll down to the Security section and find the message “Plugin_Name_Installer was blocked to protect your Mac.”
5. Click “Open Anyway.”
6. Enter your Mac login password and click Allow to proceed with installation.
When will digital code signing be completed?
- macOS Developer Code Signing: scheduled for completion in December 2025
- Windows Code Signing Certification: scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026
Once these are completed, both macOS and Windows users will be able to install without any warnings.
quietformat is committed to providing a safe and reliable plugin experience for all users.

Because digital code signing has not yet been completed, Windows Defender or SmartScreen may show messages like “Unrecognized app” or “Unverified publisher.”
This is not a virus alert but a standard warning for unsigned software.
If the warning appears during installation
1. Click “More info.”
2. Click “Run anyway.” The installer will then launch normally.
If the download is blocked (Windows 11 Edge browser)
1. When the download bar or security message appears, click the three dots (⋯) → “Keep.”
2. If prompted with “This file might be unsafe,” click “Keep anyway.”
3. Once the file is saved in your Downloads folder, double-click it to start installation.

After completing your purchase, your license key is displayed directly in your email receipt.
Please check the purchase confirmation email you received after checkout. Your license key will be clearly shown there.
If you don’t see the email, make sure to check your Spam or Promotions folders as well.
In rare cases, the PayPal payment confirmation may be delayed in some countries or regions. This means your payment has gone through successfully, but the download button may not appear right away.
No need to worry. This is only temporary and usually resolves on its own within a few hours.
Other payment methods, such as card payments, are not affected and always work normally.
If you don’t want to wait or need immediate access, just take a screenshot of your PayPal receipt and send it to one of the addresses below:
As soon as we confirm your purchase, we’ll activate your download so you can continue without any hassle.

Some users may encounter an error when attempting to install HR1 sound data to the default path C:\Program Files\quietformat\MELINO. This happens because Windows restricts write permissions in the Program Files folder.
Solution Please create the following path manually and install the HR1 files there:
Documents\MELINO\Samples
Once you create this folder and install to it, the process should complete successfully.
That message is prompting you to install the GILLA ARP sound source file (.hr1). (File name: MELTONE_1_0_0_Samples.hr1)
To ensure GILLA ARP works properly inside MELTONE, you’ll need to install this file manually the first time you run the plugin. Please check the installation guide included in the MELTONE_Installer(MAC).dmg file. (If you’re on Windows, open the folder extracted from MELTONE_Installer(WIN).zip and follow the guide there.)
The guide will walk you through all the steps required for the initial setup, including how to install the sound source file.
Yes, you can.
Each plugin has a different way to adjust the window size:
- auraVox, ValveDesk, Transient Control → Click the logo to open the window size options.
- MELTONE, MELINO, Auralis Series → Go to the Settings menu to adjust the window size.
- TILTONE → Window resizing is not supported.
Free plugins and demos are distributed through our email subscription system. This allows us to securely manage download links and keep users informed about important updates. We do not send unnecessary spam, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
macOS builds include both VST3 and AU formats, whereas Windows builds include only VST3. In addition, quietformat’s macOS plugin binaries use the Universal Binary format, which means both Intel and Apple Silicon code are contained in a single file. As a result, the file size is larger compared to Windows VST3-only builds.
All quietformat products support the following formats and systems:
- macOS 10.13 or later
- Windows 10 or later
- Plugin Formats: VST3 / AU
Compatible with most major DAWs, including Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, and more.

Once a license key has been issued, it cannot be modified or canceled.
If you’re uncertain about your purchase, we strongly recommend trying the trial mode first before buying.
(For products like the Auralis Series, which currently require a purchase to use, we plan to add a full plugin trial mode soon, just like ValveDesk and all plugins released after it.)
Please make sure you entered your email address correctly during checkout, as most missing license issues happen because of a typo.
If the address was correct and you still haven’t received your license, check your spam folder or contact us at quietformat.help@gmail.com.
