MELTONE
MELTONE is a virtual instrument plugin that captures the warmth and character of classic analog synthesizers in a digital format.
It features two independent oscillators, each offering sine, triangle, saw, square, and noise waveforms, allowing flexible sound blending.
With 3 envelopes and 3 LFOs (including a filter LFO and pitch LFO, pitch Mod Wheel), MELTONE enables rich and organic sound design.
A stereo mode and dedicated detune and chorus buttons provide depth and texture control.
The highlight is a five-step unstable pitch modulator that lets you shape subtle or aggressive pitch movements with expressive flexibility.
From the rear panel, you can activate GILLA ARP using the Advanced button:
- Use MELTONE alone
- Combine with GILLA ARP
- Or use GILLA ARP on its own
Additionally, MELTONE fully supports MPE (Pitch Expression), offering deeply intuitive and emotionally resonant performance capabilities.
UI Layout & Features (Overview)
The MELTONE interface is built on an intuitive and emotionally driven design, allowing users to quickly shape sounds and stay immersed in performance.
VCO I & II (Oscillators)
Two oscillators can be tuned independently across different octaves and waveforms, including sine, triangle, saw, square, and noise.
The mixer section allows for adjusting the balance and stereo width between the two oscillators.
FILTER & LFO
The filter section includes controls for cutoff, resonance, velocity sensitivity, LFO modulation, and key tracking.
Both LFOs support flexible waveform selection and offer features like speed adjustment, smoothing, and delay for detailed modulation.
PITCH Modulation
Pitch can be modulated using LFOs, envelopes, key tracking, and wheel rate.
A special five-stage unstable pitch modulator adds expressive randomness and helps create a distinct, emotional character in the sound.
ENVELOPES
Three separate ADSR envelopes are assigned to AMP, FILTER, and PITCH respectively, each displayed with a clean, curve-based visual interface for intuitive control.
Advanced PANEL
The rear panel, accessible via the “Advanced” button, includes the following advanced features:
GILLA ARP
The rhythm shifts every time, yet remains musically cohesive.
The melody isn't pre planned, but always feels emotionally connected.
It works like an “intentional improvisation,” without needing to define specific patterns.
EQ (Musical Equalizer)
Equipped with Low/High shelf filters, bell curves, and both high pass and low-pass filters for sculpting the tonal balance.
REVERB
Provides control over mix, decay, and stereo width to create spatial depth and ambiance.
MPE Support
MELTONE fully supports MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression), allowing even the subtlest pitch variations and emotional nuances to be reflected in the sound.
Designed with full compatibility for a wide range of MPE controllers, MELTONE enables a more intuitive and immersive playing experience.
